Washi Tape Pumpkin

Pumpkins are one of my favorite things about the fall.  From Pumpkin Spice Lattes, to pumpkin pie, to pumpkin carving, I love it all.  Pumpkin carvings are one of the most traditional ways to decorate using pumpkins during Halloween, but carved pumpkins rot pretty quickly.  I wanted to come up with some ways to decorate pumpkins that wasn't carving.  This month, I'll be sharing my best four ideas for decorating pumpkins. First up, use washi tape!  Washi tape is very popular this year and is great for pumpkin decorating!

Materials: Pumpkin (real or styrofoam), Washi Tape Assortments - Orange, *black spray paint

*You can buy styrofoam pumpkins in black already.  If you are using a real pumpkin you will need this item.

1.  Spray paint your pumpkin black.  Place the pumpkin on a flat surface and spray it.  Follow the instructions on your specific brand of spray paint.  Let the pumpkin dry completely.

2.  Start with one pattern of washi tape, and make tape lines that divide your pumpkin into fourths  Start of the stem of the pumpkin and run the washi tape all the way down the side until you get to the bottom.  Make sure your tape line is smooth and straight.

3.  Using the other pattern of washi tape, make tape lines in between the tape lines you made in the previous step.

4.  Enjoy your super trendy pumpkin!
